“My passion for women becoming the masters of their money is deep rooted.”

ALEX THEIS

“My mother comes from a family of first generation refugees. Together with her sisters, she got a degree-level education in the 70s - rare for women at the time - and was taught financial literacy in order to be fully independent in her choices, knowing exactly where her money is and how to access it.

Similarly, I was brought up to be financially independent from an early age.
Now married with 2 young children, my husband and I have full clarity around both of our finances. With this, I feel I have choices in life and can select what I want to do - the world is my oyster and I want it to be yours too.”

With a Masters degree in Economics, Alex has spent 18 years working in Finance & Investment Banking. She’s formally training to become a Financial Advisor and has completed Level 2 accounting, holding deep expertise in analyzing tax returns and balance sheets.

Yet, her true passion lies in working with people, especially coaching and mentoring women. In 2021, she earned her qualification from the Coaching Academy and has since accumulated over 1000 hours of one-on-one coaching.

Next to her coaching business, she is also the founder of Women Can Finance, a community dedicated to empowering women through financial knowledge, confidence, and collective strength.

Alex enjoys uncovering individual talents, and firmly believes that with a solid financial foundation, anything is achievable. An avid trail runner and hiker, she balances her professional life with her role as a mother to two young children.

A qualified coach and member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and Finance, Alex also supports female refugee charities and is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment. She is committed to helping women harness the power of saving and investing to open up new opportunities.

“There have been too many occasions when women have been left isolated due to unfortunate or unexpected circumstances. Today,  women are breaking the glass ceilings, earning more money than ever and also need a financial system that works for them.” -
Alex Theis

Women are now earning equal to, and in some cases more than men.
$16trln of the world’s assets are now held by women, but only 38% are investing, versus 75% men.

The main reasons, according to research, are lack of confidence and financial literacy.

The advisory landscape is traditionally male-dominated, so the lexicon, vocabulary and templates
are not aligned with what women need today.
